Overview
We head west of Siemreap to see how silk is made. Then we proceed to the biggest freshwater lake in S.E.Asia, Tonle Sap. Along the way we will witness the daily lives of village people including tending to the paddy fields, herding buffaloes and children cycling/walking to school.
The first floating village is Mechry. We will witness how homes are floated along the edge of the flood plains. Prektoal village, where a large population of 10,000 people lives on floating homes, is our destination. We learn how the community lives on water, interact with local women weaving baskets for a living and then have lunch on a floating home. On the way back, we will be enthralled by the vastness of the lake!
